Femininity and the male gaze

Challenging and exploring the expectations and perceptions of women throughout art, history and literature.
As a beginning to my Year 13 personal project, surrounding femininity and the male gaze, I took inspiration from Edvard Munch, in particular his emotive and loose backgrounds. To create this piece I first explored the subject, the three women, and how different positioning and portrayals of them would change the outcome of the piece (as depicted in image 1 & 2)
